Snap Translate AI respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled when the app provides photo OCR, image translation, speech, capture history, and favorites.
1. Information We May Process
Images and text: when you take a photo or choose an image, the app reads the image to recognize text, translate it, and display results. Recognized source text, translated text, and processed images may be saved as local capture records.
Language and model status: the app may remember your target translation language, interface language, and translation model download status so your settings remain available.
Favorites: when you favorite records or create folders, the app stores favorite status, folder names, and organization relationships locally.
Device permissions and system capabilities: the app may request camera, image access, and network permissions, and may use the device Text-to-Speech engine.
2. How Information Is Used
Information is used to recognize image text, translate recognized text, place translated text on the image, provide source and translated speech, save history and favorites, maintain core app functionality, improve the experience, and troubleshoot issues.
3. Local Processing and Third-Party Capabilities
In the current product form, capture records, favorite folders, and favorite status are mainly stored on your device. Text recognition, language identification, and translation models may rely on device-side capabilities or third-party SDKs. Some language models require a first-time network download.
If you choose online speech, the app may open a third-party web page with the text to be spoken. That third party's privacy practices are governed by its own policy.
4. Permission Details
Camera permission is used to capture images for recognition and translation. Image or media access is used to select local images. Network permission is used to download language models, access online speech pages, or support possible future online services. You can manage permissions in system settings; disabling permissions may affect related features.
5. Storage and Deletion
Capture records, recognized text, translated text, folders, and favorites are mainly stored on the local device. You can unfavorite records, delete folders, or clear app data in system settings. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data may delete local records and they may not be recoverable.
6. Information Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no software, device, or network environment can be guaranteed absolutely secure. Please avoid processing sensitive images or text that you do not want others to see, or delete related records after use.
7. Children
Minors should use the app with guidance and consent from a guardian. Guardians should help minors understand recognition, translation, and speech results, and avoid processing sensitive personal information.
8. Updates
We may update this policy as features, laws, or operational needs change. Updated terms will be shown in the app. Continued use means you understand the updated policy.
9. Contact
For privacy questions, use Feedback in the app or email appfoxtech@gmail.com.
